The signs are there: the State Fair starting, the earlier sunsets, the school supplies list in the mail. Yes, the 12 Weeks of Summer are almost over, but the good news is they are not over yet. We still have Week 11 and Week 12, so let’s enjoy them!
This week, we recommend seeing parts of Minneapolis from a different perspective, like on a Segway. Human on a Stick is a sightseeing company that provides tours solely via the Segway, Also known as Mobile Entertainment, LLC, these guys are the only Segway rental and tour company in Minnesota, and they have been providing tours to locals and visitors alike for over 10 years.
Their most popular tour is the Magical History Tour, which covers several miles along the Minneapolis Riverfront. The tour, led by a professional guide, takes about three hours to complete and covers the history of the Riverfront from 10,000 BC to the present.
Of course, before you even hop on your Segway you will be trained on how to operate it safely, and at some point during your tour, you will stop for refreshments at the Mill City Museum. The Magical History Tour is currently the only one which is offered every day, twice a day, at 9:30 am and 2:30 pm.
They also offer an Insider’s Tour where you will explore parts of downtown while unlocking secrets of Minneapolis, from the city’s beginning up to today.
The Insider’s Tour is offered at different times, so you are encouraged to call ahead for reservations.
All tours are $90 plus tax and includes the training, tour, helmet and an entrance ticket to the Mill City Museum. The recommended age is anyone between 13 and 80 years old, and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the entire duration of the tour.
Human on a Stick, by the way, is located at 125 Main St. SE at St. Anthony Main in Minneapolis. You can get more information about them, their tours and the Segway in general at HumanOnAStick.com.
