So for Week 5 of our 12 Weeks of Summer series, we are highlighting places you can go to chase a golf ball around mazes and obstacle courses with a small golf club, or for simplicity sake, mini-golf.
Except if you go to Centennial Lakes Park in Edina. The course isn’t necessarily mini-golf, but rather golf in miniature. Their 18-hole course includes greens ranging in length from 57 to 125 feet and are surrounded by sand traps, ponds, boulders and planter beds. This course definitely mimics the “real game” more than others, although players only use a putter to navigate through the course.
It is a par 51 course and takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete. It is suitable for all ages and abilities, although they recommend players be at least eight years old.
Summer Hours: 10:00 am until sunset every day
Rates: $10 per person for 18 holes; $6 per person for 9 holes (available Monday through Friday, excluding holidays)

The Links at Dred Scott offers over 5,000 square feet of putting green fun and includes such obstacles as a water jump hole and a hole with an elevated cup. It is a challenging course, but not too challenging that you’ll walk away in frustration. Rather, you’ll encounter many creative and novel holes that never play the same twice, and your skill and patience will be tested. It’s a great place for family fun, and is suitable for golfers ages 2 to 102.
Summer Hours: 10:00 am until 10:00 pm, daily. Last tee time is 10:00 pm
