Minneapolis-based Apple Adventure Racing recently announced the schedule for the 2014 MN Brewery Running Series, and if you like to run, walk, have fun and enjoy craft beer, you will want to take note.
The idea behind these runs is to showcase not only the many different and diverse neighborhoods of Minneapolis and St. Paul, but also to highlight several of the local craft breweries that are adding vibrancy and excitement to these neighborhoods. Each 5k finishes at a local brewery where participants enjoy great local beer and leave with a collectors’ pint glass. Every event offers different extra features including, but not limited to, health tips, product demos, food trucks and live music.
So where will this season’s runs take place?
The schedule includes runs in Downtown St. Paul, East St. Paul, the North Loop, Downtown Minneapolis, South Minneapolis, Northeast Minneapolis and the Saint Anthony neighborhoods. The featured breweries include:
- Great Waters Brewing Co.
- Summit Brewing Company
- 612 Brew
- Fulton Beer
- Badger Hill Brewing Company
- Harriet Brewing
- Surly Brewing Company
- Boom Island Brewing Company
- Northgate Brewing
- Pracna On Main
- Dangerous Man Brewing Co.
- Day Block Brewing Co.
- Bauhaus Brew Labs
Registration is $30 per race, which includes one craft beer and a collectors’ pint glass as well as the opportunity to partake in brewery tours, product demos, special giveaways and more.
In addition to supporting the local craft breweries, Apple Adventure Racing also supports local nonprofits. A portion of proceeds from each event of the MN Brewery Running Series will be donated to Bolder Options, a Minneapolis-based organization that focuses on healthy youth development.
The first race of the MN Brewery Running Series is taking place on Saturday, April 26, and races are scheduled through October. For a full schedule of events, and to learn more and register, please visit the MN Brewery Running Series website.
