2017 Artability Art Show & Sale
Oct 26 @ 11:00 am – Oct 28 @ 3:00 pm

People Incorporated’s Artability program is an annual celebration of the creativity and contributions of people with mental illnesses to our community. A series of art and writing workshops lead up to the multi-day Artability Show & Sale held each fall. Artists may sell their work at the show and receive 80% of the profits, with the remaining 20% going back to support the Artability program. Writers also contribute their creative work to an anthology available for sale at the show.

Artability is vital to the work of People Incorporated in helping individuals living with mental illnesses to work toward achieving their goals related to living independent and enriched lives. The show is a source of inspiration and pride for the area’s mental health community, and encourages artists to explore their interests, share their love of art, and gain confidence in their skills.

The 2017 show will be held at the Great Hall in St Paul, and will be open as follows:

Thursday, October 26
11am-7pm

Friday, October 27
11am-8pm (Awards Ceremony 6pm)

Saturday, October 28
10am-3pm
The event is free and open to the public.

Junket’s November Reuse Drive: Musical Keyboards
Nov 26 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

On Sunday, November 26, we’re collecting keyboards of all kinds to benefit Urban Ventures: Music Academy.

Urban Ventures Music Academy provides education and opportunities to the youth of South Minneapolis through group instruction, one-on-one mentorship, and state-of-the-art recording studio experiences.

Below is a list of the most helpful items you can donate. Urban Ventures will also have a representative at the shop between 1-4P to accept your items, talk about the organization’s programs, and answer your questions.

Items you can donate:
Yamaha, Casio, Radio Shack (Concertmate) or Kawai keyboards of any size key or number of keys. Ukuleles will also be accepted.

Because of the broad range of donation quality and the intention that these efforts produce genuine benefit for the recipient organizations, we actively encourage participants to respectfully decline specific items that may not be a fit. Should this happen with something you’ve brought, your pals at Junket will do our best to help you identify the next best solution.

The purpose of Junket’s monthly Reuse Drives is to help our community members incrementally declutter — while helping their unneeded stuff get into the hands of others who would find it legitimately helpful.
