You probably know Chef Gavin Kaysen as the force behind Minneapolis Foodie-Favorite, Spoon and Stable. And if you’ve been lucky enough to snag a reservation at the ever-popular restaurant, perhaps you’ve even seen him in his element.
But if you haven’t, don’t worry. You can cook with him. Kind of.
Chef Kaysen is President Cheese’s Chef Expert and he invites you to co-create a summer salad with him.
Granted, this isn’t technically “cooking” and you won’t be standing next to him, but you’ll still be working alongside him using YouTube’s clickable-link feature, selecting ingredients at each step and customizing your salad along the way.
From the beginning, you make the decisions, picking the ingredients as you progress. Your first choice is what type of salad to make: compressed melon or heirloom tomatoes. From there, you determine the type of nuts, herbs and dressing to add.
In all, there are 16 different summer salad combinations, all topped with President Feta.
Recipes include Compressed Melon with hazelnuts, lavender honey, and shiso; Heirloom Tomatoes with pistachio, saba vinegar, basil, and mint; and more.
Once you have created your ideal recipe, you can download and print your recipe, or you can share it with friends on social media. And don’t forget to brag that you had help from Chef Gavin Kaysen, too!
Check it out and have fun!
