On July 29th and 30th the nationally-acclaimed Loring Park Art Festival will return for its eighteenth consecutive year. The festival will take place from 10am-6pm on Saturday, July 29th and 10am-5pm on Sunday, July 30th. This two-day juried festival takes place in Loring Park at Oak Grove Street and Hennepin Avenue, near downtown Minneapolis, the Walker Art Center, and the Basilica of Saint Mary.
The Loring Park Art Festival continues to bring exceptional juried artwork from 140 artists of all media. Artists creating oil paintings, watercolors, handmade paper, sculpture, textiles, photography, glass, ceramics, jewelry, mixed-media, prints, and more will be represented in this year’s festival. This variety of creative expression and price ranges offers all visitors a chance to take home one-of-a-kind artwork.
In 2016, after seventeen consecutive years of sharing a weekend with the Uptown Art Festival and the Powderhorn Art Festival, the Loring Park Art Festival moved to the weekend prior. This new date was an enormous success. Attendance numbers were record breaking, with over 30,000 attending, and artist applications increased as well. Best of all, this change gave art-lovers the opportunity to enjoy art festivals in the Twin Cities for two consecutive weekends.
As always, festival goers will also enjoy family events, food vendors, live music, and unique entertainment in the beautiful outdoor setting of Loring Park.
