There’s a New Workout In Town

Alchemy 365 logoMaybe you’ve been there before: you weave working out into your daily or weekly schedule and have the best intentions to continue, but life gets in the way. Or, maybe you’ve been going to the gym regularly for some time but are now bored and burned out with your workout. Or maybe you want to go to a gym but are too intimidated by all the mirrors and gym rats.

If any of that rings true, listen up because there’s a new gym and workout in town.

It’s called Alchemy 365 and chances are it’s unlike any fitness routine you’ve experienced before. And that’s by design.

Alchemy was conceived by former CorePower Yoga studio manager, Molly Hanten, Union Fitness founders, Tyler Quinn, and Andrea and Mike Jones, and local businessman, Scott Jagodzinski. The team created an entirely new and one-of-a-kind group fitness program that offers a combination of high intensity training (HIT) with yoga to drive performance, fitness and restoration.

What makes it so unique?

“Not only do we focus on creating a different workout for every class, but we encourage every individual to go at their own pace to reach results they are proud of,” says Andrea Jones, Chief Marketing Officer.  “Plus, we want to foster a sense of community for everyone who steps through our doors.”

Alchemy 365 class

Alchemy has three different class offerings – A10/20, AFLOW and ASTRONG. Each are individual group fitness classes that, when combined, form a complete program that can be customized to any individual’s goals. That means that every component of the class can be customized to the needs and goals of every participant.

Plus, there are no mirrors anywhere in the studio space. With no mirrors, the focus can be on the actual workout rather than what you look like while you are working out.

And while Alchemy strives to deliver a stellar workout, they also are focused on building  a strong community.

The coaches are full-time employees who really get to know the members on a personal level, not independent trainers who come and go.

Member success stories are celebrated and featured on the wall.

Their retail space features Minneapolis-made products.

People come here and feel as if they are a part of something, not just going to a space to work out.

And speaking of their space, Alchemy has two locations to date in Minneapolis. The first, which opened in March of 2015, is located in the North Loop.

The second location, in the historic Machine Shop building in Northeast Minneapolis, opened in December, 2015.

The new, 6,100 square-foot Northeast studio is nearly double the size of the flagship location in the North Loop. It boasts three fitness rooms, 25 parking spaces, high end bathrooms with showers and amenities, and a private patio that will host many festive events. Reciprocity at the new location is offered for members of the flagship studio.

There is a lot more we could tell you about Alchemy. We could tell you about their exclusive “Torpedo” – a cross between a kettlebell and free weight – which they specifically designed and use in their classes. We could tell you that you will find Number 4 Performance shampoo in the private showers in their Northeast location, and you won’t find it anywhere else in the midwest.

We could also tell that their goal is to provide you with the best possible experience, from the moment you check-in till the moment you walk out after a great workout.

But you should experience it for yourself. Alchemy thinks so, too, so they are giving Minneapolis Happening readers a free week to try any and all of their classes at either location. All you have to do is mention this article or show it to them  on your mobile device.

After your free week, if you like it, you can continue to enjoy the workouts and community via a couple of different ways. They offer class passes or monthly memberships.

And chances are, you’ll be enjoying Alchemy for a long, long time.

Visit Alchemy at one of their two locations:

  • Alchemy North Loop – 246 9th AV N, Minneapolis
  • Alchemy Northeast – 120 3rd AV SE, Minneapolis

Find our more about Alchemy at their website or on Facebook.

Check them out and don’t forget to mention this article for a free week!
