Taher, Inc. is a local contract food service management company. Although based in the Twin Cities, the company provides K-12 school lunch management, campus dining, senior dining, business dining and catering, summer camp dining, and vending and office coffee services to clients in a growing nationwide footprint.
And for the past four years at Thanksgiving, the company has provided meals for their employees to “Pay It Forward.”
What does that mean?
Taher prepares a meal from scratch and gives it the employee so he or she could deliver to their friend in need.
This year, Taher is opening up the Pay It Forward Thanksgiving to the communities of Minneapolis/St. Paul and Chicago.
They have committed to preparing 2,000 meals and are asking the public to nominate and deliver them to deserving families at home in time for Thanksgiving.
If someone’s circumstance is less than ideal this Thanksgiving – be it from illness, loss of job or something else – Taher is asking you to nominate them to receive a free meal. You just need to fill out a nomination form.
You will be notified by Friday, November 20 if the family you nominated was chosen. If so, you are asked to pick up that family’s meal on Tuesday, November 24 or November 25 and deliver it to the family.
Finally, Taher would like you to share a reaction or story with the hashtag #PayItForwardThanksgiving.
Friday, November 20 is right around the corner, so if you want to pay it forward, click here for more information and to get to the nomination form.
