Buying and/or Selling Your Home

I will work hard to earn your confidence, trust and loyalty and ensure a seamless transaction. I look forward to using my market knowledge and negotiation, technology and communication skills in serving you.”

Buyers can expect to be well informed and well prepared, to receive responsive and professional guidance and to have fun finding their next home.

In addition to the above, sellers can expect marketing that achieves the maximum exposure with web content and professional photographs in quantities and quality that surpass the industry standards.

“My marketing plan is tailored to your property, ensuring the content is accurate, relevant and compelling. I will highlight your property’s unique features and selling points to attract the most and best-suited buyers.”

TIP – When preparing your home for sale, give it a really good cleaning above and beyond the everyday chores. A thorough pre-market cleaning should include: removing cobwebs, dusting ceilings fans, tops of door frames and mechanicals plus tall items like your refrigerator – many folks forget to look up! Also clean baseboards, heating vents, underneath furniture and appliances, brighten tile grout, remove finger smudges off light switches and doors and wash windows – this last project may let in so much light, you’ll no longer want to move.

Outdoor Art

Overt outdoor art

Local artist Laurie Peterson brings her talent to your garden, deck and yard.

Understanding how much Minnesotans enjoy their time outdoors, Laurie wondered why we couldn’t enjoy canvas artwork ALL the time, in every setting – even outdoors – so she began the process of studying and researching methods to bring fine art into the open. Every season, through sun, rain, or snow, Overt Outdoor Art adds a unique statement with vibrant color, and is a beautiful addition to your outdoor space.

They’ve taken every measure to ensure your lasting enjoyment of Overt Outdoor Art.

Your art is printed with UV sun-protecting ink on sturdy canvas. The prints are further protected by weather proofing for water resistance, additional UV protection, and gallery wrapped using stainless steel staples. Their cedar frames are custom made, sealed with polyurethane, and assembled using 3” coated screws.

All materials, labor, and printing are local with an eye to environmental best practices.

The Result: Fine art that is open to view, always outstanding, and never needing to hide indoors.

TIP: With spring around the corner, it’s hard to ignore the urge to jump into gardening. Be patient – uncovering plants too early can backfire quickly. Instead, use your gardening energy to sterilize outdoor planters and ready them for their occupants. Sterilizing planters yearly alleviates pest problems, mold, and other elements that stunt growth and vitality.

Contact Laurie at 612-259-8722 or visit www.overtoutdoorart.com to view their gallery, order artwork, and get ideas for how and where to display your artwork.

Car Maintenance

Getting ready for a road tripping summer

Here we are looking at warm weather with a gleam in our eye, thinking about all of our great parks and destinations we are going to enjoy this summer. A great many of us are going to use an automobile to get there. Motoring has been a part of our culture to get us to our favorite destinations since the baby boomers were able to drive and we’ve never looked back.

With this in mind, here are a few things that should be considered before heading out on your trip.

The warm weather can be just as hard on today’s automobiles as the cold weather. After a long winter make sure to have your battery checked, condition of all fluids checked, the steering and suspension checked after taking such a beating from those pesky pot holes, air conditioning is always nice and should be included in your check up, and don’t forget to have your tires checked and have the air in them changed from the winter air to the summer air. Just kidding. All of these check ups and more will be included with your oil change service at any of our Nelson’s Auto Repair locations. HAPPY MOTORING!

Find Nelson’s Auto Repair online at www.nelsonsrepair.com or call them at (612) 354-2285.

Preserving Your Memories

Home Video Studio

The days are longer, the temps are rising and soon, spring will be in the air. With it, of course, comes spring cleaning, a necessary and sometimes gigantic task. If you are like the many people out there who simply by-pass the bins and piles of old photos, albums and VHS tapes when cleaning the home, this is your year.

That’s right. This is the year that you can do something with all of those beloved photos that just sit quietly in a box in the closet. Whether it’s album upon album, your wedding photos and video tapes, 35mm slides and family films – 8mm and 16mm – or even all of those photos on your phone, you can bring them someplace and have everything transferred, either to a DVD or to your own special place in cloud.

Home Video Studio of Bloomington is here to help, and they want to make your spring cleaning easier. Regardless of how many photos or videos you have, they will work with you to help you preserve your memories.

TIP: Cleaning out all of those photos and videos at once can seem like an enormous task. To get started, organize what you have and pick out the photos you absolutely, positively want to keep. Then, bring all of them to Home Video Studio and they’ll edit the photos and create a customized and fun keepsake on DVD. They’ll even add music.

House Cleaning – spring cleaning typically starts with the home, which can be a big and arduous task. Of course, you can go it alone, or you can get some help from the folks at Happy Earth. They use only eco-friendly, sustainable and non-toxic cleaning supplies and they every day they strive to provide an exceptional and personalized cleaning service that promotes a healthy environment and home.

Gutter Cleaning – yes, it’s important to clean your gutters after all the leaves fall and before the snow flies, but it’s also important to clean them once that snow melts. Give Gutter Maids a call; they service al areas of the Twin Cities Metro area. And, they don’t use any chemicals; just water and a little elbow grease.

Yard Clean Up – if you have a dog, you understand how the first few days after the snow melts can be. There is plenty of work to be done in the yard with plenty of baggies. You can do it yourself, or you can hire a service to do it for you. In fact, you can hire a service to do it for you all year long, if you’d like. But if you’d rather just do the spring clean-up, that’s fine, too. One such service to check out is Turd Nerds, if for nothing else, the name.

Lawn Care – spring yard clean up is crucial for a heathy lawn for the rest of the season. Although it may not seem like it, most lawns need to be cleaned of debris and leaves that have accumulated over the winter months, and the turf needs to be cleaned and stimulated to begin a healthy growing process. And although an early spring is what most of us wish for, it also brings special conditions to our lawns that may need special attention. If you are looking for some help in getting your yard in tip-top shape, consider Lawn and Turf Co. of Minneapolis.

Window Washing – after a rough (or not so rough) winter, you might consider washing your windows. And we’re talking about more than spraying some glass cleaner on them, but rather hiring a professional to tackle the job.  If that’s the case, consider contacting A Brighter View; they specialize in solely cleaning residential windows and they can teach you a lot, too!
