Minneapolis musician and former contestant on NBC’s The Voice, Tim Mahoney, is partnering with School of Rock of Eden Prairie to teach students how to write their own original music and reach for their dreams.
If you’ve followed the Minneapolis music scene for the last 15-20 years, you’ve no doubt seen and heard Mahoney. And now, students between the ages of 8 and 24 can work with him at School of Rock as he offers weekly one-on-one coaching.
What’s more, he is also making himself available to produce his students’ music. That’s right; students can also record with Mahoney, all while building on their creative skills and improving their understanding of musical theory and practice.
Mahoney first saw the School of Rock’s perform at 107.1’s Project Down and Dirty. “I knew I wanted to work with hem,” he said. “They just get it.They are positively influencing the lives of creative kids through their rock performance program and I thought I could add value to their program by offering a song writing program, which wasn’t in their offering before.”
So all of you aspiring songwriters can now enroll to work with Mahoney. The School of Rock Eden Prairie is currently accepting students (again, ages 8—24), and enrollment can be done through calling 952-934-7625. For more information, please visit http://EdenPrairie.
