Pick 3 Weekend Events July 15 – 17

Pick 3 Weekend EventsIs it really already the middle of July? Seriously, how did that happen?

Time flies when you’re having fun, they say, so we must be having a blast. And, another weekend is upon us with once again lots to do.

In our Pick 3 Events, we have a local business on national TV, an annual music and arts festival and free ice cream (along with celebrating our Sister Cities). Check it all out and enjoy!

Friday, July 15 – The Herbivorous Butcher on Food Network’s “Triple D”
Du Nord Craft Spirits, 2610 32nd St. NE., Minneapolis

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the country’s first vegan butcher shop opened in Minneapolis earlier this year. And on Friday, July 15, anyone who watches the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” will know about it, too (although truth be told, it seems a large chunk of the population is in the know).

To celebrate their TV debut, the Herbivorous Butcher is holding a viewing party at Du Nord Craft Spirits. The Herbivorous Butcher is bringing the vegan party subs and snacks, while Du Nord will be serving up a specialty cocktail for the occasion, as well as libations off of their regular drink menu.

The party starts at 8:00 pm and the show airs at 9:00 pm. The event is free to attend and the only thing you’ll have to spend money on is a cocktail or two…but they are totally worth it!

Saturday, July 16 – Longfellow Roots, Rock & Deep Blues Festival
Downtown Longfellow Neighborhood, 3010 Minnehaha Ave., Minneapolis

Back for the 6th annual, this music and arts festival continues to be artist-driven, volunteer-run and an annual fundraiser for Patrick’s Cabaret. If you enjoy eclectic art, outstanding food, and a variety of live music, you will want to check this festival out.

Running from 2:00 pm until midnight, three stages will showcase performances from the best local, regional and national acts. The event will also see the return of the famed International Food Court with authentic street food offerings from a variety of Longfellow neighborhood brick-n-mortar restaurants and some of the very best food trucks in the cities. And, a wide variety of artists will showcase a varied array of work from paintings, illustrations and recycled art to jewelry, textiles and much much more.

Admission is $20 and lots of packages are available. For more information and to get your tickets in advance, please click here.

Sunday, July 17 – Sister Cities Day
Nicollet Island Pavilion, 40 Power St., Minneapolis

Did you know that Minneapolis has 12 Sister Cities and you can celebrate them all on Sister Cities Day? It’s true; this family-friendly event features multi-cultural entertainment, children’s activities and free ice cream!

A full day of fun is planned, starting at 1:00 pm and running until 5:00 pm. For a full run-down of the program and to learn more about the Sister Cities of Minneapolis, please click here.
