Winter Markets 2015Although it’s not quite winter, summer has definitely left us and the winter market season is upon us. And that’s not such a bad thing as the options are plenty for all sorts of winter markets in all sorts of settings.

There are some that run throughout the colder months while others last only a couple of weekends. Regardless, you are sure to find plenty of warm fun, great products and outstanding services at these markets.

Check out this list and see what we mean.


Capella Tower Winter Market – 225 S. 6th Street, Minneapolis
Capella Tower is hosting an indoor winter market happening in November and December. Each market will feature 15-20 local vendors offering a wide range of products. Items for sale will include locally canned goods, baked goods, local produce, meat and cheese, vegan meat and pastries, chips and salsa, and a variety of small-batch specialty food products such as spiced nuts, ghee, and hot sauce. Local musicians will also perform live concerts at each market.

The Capella Tower Winter Markets will be held in Capella Tower’s first floor atrium from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on:

  • Wednesday, November 18
  • Wednesday, December 2
  • Wednesday, December 16


Calhoun Square’s Winter Market – 3001 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis
When you are out in the Uptown area, swing by Calhoun Square and check out their Winter Market. There, you can pick up unique gifts from Minnesota artisans specializing in gourmet foods, home decor, apparel, health and wellness products, jewelry and much more. They will have a rotating array of local vendors each week as well as food trucks.

The Winter Market happens every Saturday through December 26 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.


Northeast Farmer’s Market Winter Market – 711 15th Ave NE, Minneapolis
The Northeast Farmer’s Market Winter Market is happening in the beautiful Solar Arts Building, on the third floor. Along with supporting local food vendors throughout the winter months, you also can expect music from The Ring Toss Twins, kids activities, and much more.

Check out the Northeast Winter Market  on the following days and times:

  • Saturday, November 28 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm
  • Saturday, December 19  from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm
  • Saturday, January 16 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm
  • Saturday, February 20 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm
  • Saturday, March 19 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm


Mill City Farmers Market Winter Market – 704 S. 2nd St., Minneapolis
The Mill City Farmers Market moves indoors to the Mill City Museum during the cold months, which provides a tremendous backdrop for a winter market. You’ll have nine opportunities to check it out as it stays indoors through April 9 (although the March 5th market is actually at the Arboretum and the Mill City Museum).

So, what can you expect? The November and December markets are, as you might expect, holiday-related featuring not only great produce for your holiday meals but also great gifts and decor, including sustainable Christmas trees. January’s market features many local artisans, while February’s market is chock full of sweetness just in time for Valentine’s Day. March is all about celebrating spring, and the final winter market in April features many new vendors that you will see during the regular outdoor market season.

The Mill City Farmers Market Winter Market happens from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on the following Saturdays:

Neighborhood Roots Holiday and Winter Markets – 6010 Lyndale Ave. S., Minneapolis
The folks behind the Fulton, Kingfield and Nokomis markets (Neighborhood Roots) partner with Bachman’s in the colder months and put one a great winter market. This season, there will be a Holiday Market in November, along with three ‘regular’ winter markets.

On each occasion, you’ll have the chance to find some of your favorite vendors from the outdoor markets and shop locally grown and produced cheeses, meats, prepared foods, canned goods, crafts, and some fresh produce, all in the warmth of our greenhouse at Bachman’s on Lyndale. Plus, there will be live music, children’s activities and wine and beer for sale by the glass.

The Holiday Market is happening on Sunday, November 15 from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm. The Winter Markets are happening on the following Saturdays from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm:

  • January 23
  • February 27
  • March 26


Linden Hills Farmers Market – 3723 W. 44th St., Minneapolis
The Linden Hills Farmers Market moves indoors to the greenhouses at Sunnyside Gardens. You will find many of your favorites from the outdoor market on Sundays from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm, starting on Sunday, November 22 and running weekly through Sunday, December 20.
